How curly is it? If it's that super fluffy sort of curly you've actually got an easier job spiking it up, as it has a tendency to stay that way.

If it's heavier and not as fluffy, a good straightening iron can do the trick. It might be easier doing liberty spikes than fan, though, which is what I usually go for. Fan can end up being super finicky and complicated.
