Like I just said, I don't expect all your work to be perfect. I felt the need to say how it struck me because this is one of the sillier ones.
The whole thing doesn't look like a fetish portrait. At first glance it looks like a seasonal autumn photo, until I noticed that the model is dressed in latex and is wearing makeup, which is black and red (hair and makeup) and is not complementary at all to the surroundings or the tree bark. The next thing I noticed was her pose and facial expression which would be fine in a less lit or otherwise "feelgood" backdrop. The whole thing just looks out of place and as if it were trying too hard.
That's a much more helpful comment that you gave at the end, I wish you had said that originally. Though, I still say "silly" is just an opinion, I don't happen to find this at all silly myself. The hair/make-up is intended to go with the autumn tones (oranges and reds), and it was my favorite pose of the series because it elongated the figure in a flattering way and showed interaction with the surroundings rather than just standing there blankly. I liked how the expression made the lips look. I like it when fetish isn't standard studio but in a natural environment, I think it can help turn what could be overly sexy into more of a pretty atmospheric fantasy scene.
I'm sorry. I can't really take this seriously. It just looks so fucking random. This... is just a girl in a sexy latex dress and heels... making a ridiculous slut expression while doing a stupid monkeyslut pose with a tree. This is stupid.
I'm not bullying you. You are a more popular artist than 96% of the people on this site will ever, ever be. You have some really incredible shots. And some that are just silly. And stupid. I'm not a fan of the constant "dramatic upset dingy goth-punk-lolita model in a dark room wearing steampunk jewelry and a corset," but this is just.. not a good picture. I'm sorry, not that I think that I really have any effect on you, because I am just one random bullshit naysayer with bad art in an ocean of fans, but I dislike this picture. I think it looks stupid and the model and composition and coloring and everything just looks dumb to me.
Okay, you dislike the photo. That's fine. But no, saying "silly" and "stupid" is expressing your opinion in a way that is uncalled for. How is that helpful to me? Like I said, it's a fetish portrait, like it or don't. But I can't say I understand what is wrong with the coloring and stuff like that, and you're not helping me to improve my photography skills whatsoever by your comment. Are you honestly expecting to like 100% of our work, and are you honestly going to call every photo of ours you don't like stupid? Really? Why?
